Below is Richard's entry to our 100:T-shirts project
94

"I started the design with some basic research on the number '94', discovering that it is the Atomic Number for Plutonium (Pu), which immediately appealed to me.
I decided to 'doodle' in the negative space around my chosen font in bright colours, just to spark some ideas. I scanned my initial drawings and manipulatedthem using some basic, well practiced techniques on Adobe Ahotoshop. These bright designs suited the theme of 'power' that I had attached to the idea of Plutonium and the idea developed further by adding and manipulating some 'found' imagery, ased as photomontage.
The complete image appears to show a figure with his finger hovering over a button and'power' emanating from that button.
The radioactive rabbit in the lower right hand corner of the design also subtly serves to balance the number '94', which appears in its original form near the top right hand corner of the design.
The design includes elements/styles present in my other artwork; including repeat pattern, photomontage, stained glass, the written word and digital design.
