Alistair Owen's practice uses a wide range of media including installations, drawing, photography, film and sculpture. His practice primary research is the exploration of objects, systems and social presumptions. With this in mind, space is an important principle grounding. Recent work has challenged the idea of object in relation to space and language. The use of the ready-made develops a conversation of the antithesis between the everyday and the notion of 'The Gallery'. This is in relation to the use of materials which takes inspiration from the site where the work is installed.
